Three weekends into May, Action News Crew is showing up in roughly one in five Pauper 5-0 lists posted to the public results feeds. That puts it in the same bracket as established Pauper staples and well above where most TMT commons have settled.
What is driving the climb
The card pulls double duty. As a 2/3 vigilance for three, it pressures life totals while still blocking the format's defining 2-drops. The channel-and-trigger package gives the same body a value engine that grindy matchups want and aggressive matchups can ignore.
The decks running it are not all the same. Boros Synthesizer plays it as a midrange three-drop with reach. Dimir Faeries is running it as a discard outlet plus a flying enabler. Mono-Green Stompy treats the channel ability as a hand-fixer for late-game flood.
That deck-spread is the strongest signal that the card is real. A card that finds a home in three different Pauper archetypes inside a month is unusual.
What to expect
Pauper's metagame moves slowly compared with Modern, but the Action News Crew rise is happening at Modern speed. We expect to see at least one of the existing Pauper Tier 1 lists cut a flex slot for it inside two weeks, and a couple of fringe decks rebuild around the channel-and-trigger engine.
Pricing has tracked: the card has roughly tripled in TCGPlayer median price since its set release, though it remains comfortably under a dollar. If the climb continues, expect that to keep moving.
