Legal since its March 2026 printing, but yet to register in any tracked Standard deck this season. The Sneak line is doing genuinely novel work, collapsing the Orzhov reanimation contract into a single combat step, and the problem is not the card so much as the surrounding pool. A combat-triggered reanimator wants three things at once: an evasive body to bounce and replay, a graveyard reliably stocked with creatures worth returning to the battlefield, and a tempo profile fast enough that committing a turn to attacking with a 3/3 does not just hand the opponent a window. White-black in the current format does not assemble those three into a coherent shell. The decks playing Orzhov colors lean on efficient removal and midrange threats, not on filling a graveyard early enough that a turn-three or turn-four Sneak finds a target worth the setup. Without a self-mill or discard engine to feed her, the payoff arrives a beat after the format has moved on, and the hardcast mode is a fair-rate hand-return that no deck is currently building toward.

The card rotates in the fall 2027 cycle, with the exact date pending Wizards' announcement, so the clock here is long rather than urgent. Time is on its side in the sense that nothing about its design has expired; the home simply has not printed yet. Nothing on the announced schedule obviously assembles the evasion-plus-graveyard package she needs, but Standard's pool turns over by design, and a single discard-and-fill engine in a future Orzhov set would change the read entirely.
