Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
The colorless escape hatch for any deck that can reach eight mana, built so that its own kind can never be the answer. The minus-X sweeper exiles every colored permanent at or below the chosen value, which makes the safety valve a feature of the design rather than a quirk: Ugin himself is colorless, so the same deck that resolves him keeps everything it cares about (its lands, its other colorless threats, the planeswalker doing the exiling) while stripping the board of opposing creatures, enchantments, and planeswalkers regardless of indestructibility or hexproof. That selectivity is the whole pitch. Where a symmetrical wrath asks both players to rebuild, this one spares only your colorless permanents while wiping every colored one on the table, and it does so from a starting loyalty of seven that absorbs a turn of pressure before it has to defend itself. The plus-two is not filler either: three damage to any target patrols the ground or finishes a planeswalker while loyalty climbs toward an ultimate that refills a hand and slams seven permanents onto the battlefield in one motion. Ugin sits in a lineage of top-end colorless finishers that ask nothing of your color identity and reward decks built around fixing into raw mana rather than into a curve. The cost is the gate; clear it, and the board math tilts almost entirely one direction.
