Take Faithless Looting and swap its second cast from flashback to rebound, and you rewrite the rhythm of how a red deck sculpts its hand. Flashback is a graveyard cost paid on demand: cast the spell, then pay again to fire it from the bin whenever you like, dumping both filters in one explosive turn. Rebound removes that choice. The spell exiles as it resolves and hands the recast back on your next upkeep, so the two filtering actions are locked to separate turns and the tempo answers to the calendar rather than to how fast you can spend mana. That schedule suits a grindy, incremental plan more than an all-in dredge or reanimator burst. The instant speed matters: hold it up, react to an opponent's draw step, then rummage before you pass, and the rebound cast stays queued for next upkeep no matter what happened in between. But rummage cuts the other way from looting: because you discard first, you have to commit a card before you see what replaces it, though with an empty hand you simply discard nothing and draw for free. Card advantage was never the promise anyway. Each cast trades one card for another, and the spell itself left your hand to begin the sequence, so across two turns the count runs a card short. This is filtering with a price tag, delivered in two installments a turn apart, that swaps raw quantity for the ability to bury a specific card and dig toward a specific answer.
