Because the trigger says choose target player, the wreckage does not have to be an opponent's: point it at yourself after your own sacrifice loop or your own permanents dying, and you convert your losses into ramp as readily as anyone else's. Flash is the piece that makes the timing viable, letting you hold the body until the graveyard is full rather than committing ahead of the destruction, so you can wait for whoever just lost the most permanents. Powerstone mana comes with a restriction against casting nonartifact spells, which frames the payoff not as generic ramp but as fuel for an artifact-heavy plan. The artificer is a scavenger, converting battlefield attrition into colorless mana that can only be spent one way. It asks a deck to manufacture graveyard traffic on purpose, then arrives at instant speed to collect the wreckage.
