Wish

Sorcery2 generic manaRed mana

The wishboard priced for red and stripped of the caveats that hobbled its ancestors. Where the original cycle could only reach narrow slices (Cunning Wish for instants, Living Wish for creatures and lands, Burning Wish for sorceries), this fetches any card at all from outside the game, and that unrestricted reach is what makes it a silver-bullet toolbox rather than a category tutor: it answers questions no maindeck can pre-load for. The critical wrinkle is the "this turn" clause. Its ancestors parked the fetched card in your hand to hold for a better window; this one demands you play what you grab on the same turn you cast it. There is no stashing, no waiting: the answer has to be playable now, so the tempo cost is front-loaded rather than deferred. In sanctioned play "outside the game" resolves to a reserve of cards you set aside, which makes the real design tension deckbuilding, not casting: every card you can tutor for is one you chose to leave out of the deck proper. What balances it is exactly that friction. No target restriction means no discount off the rate, and the effect is only as strong as the reserve you were disciplined enough to assemble, and only as timely as your ability to actually play the piece the turn you reach for it.
