Board wipes usually ask you to burn the whole table and rebuild; this one asks a stranger question, which is which creature type you want to keep alive across the board. You name a survivor for every player, yourself included, and everything that doesn't share a type with those anchors dies. The result is not a reset but a filter, and the filter cuts along tribal lines rather than color, cost, or power. In a mirror of narrow decks it can read as symmetrical wrath with a rider; in a board of scattered singletons it can be a lopsided sweep that leaves your Elf army standing while an opponent keeps one creature and loses the rest. Convoke is the wrinkle that ties the payoff to the setup: a wide creature-type board both discounts the spell and defines what walks away from it, so the deck that most wants to cast this is the deck it hurts least. That internal tension is unusual for a six-mana white sweeper, and it points the card squarely at go-wide tribal strategies rather than the control shells that usually hoard board wipes. Everything hinges on the anchor you name: pick right and you clear the table around your own tribe, pick a shared type by accident and you spare more than you meant to.
