White Lotus Tile

Artifact4 generic mana

The name winks at the fast rock it inverts, but the design runs the opposite direction. The classic mana artifact asks nothing of the board and rewards you for casting it early; this one asks you to have already built something. It counts the largest tribe you field and pays out that many mana, all in one color. Because it enters tapped, the four-drop contributes nothing on arrival, and even once it untaps it does nothing unless you have committed creatures to the board. That is the whole tension: a colorless four-mana rock that generates no mana on its own is a dead card, but in a deck stacked with a single creature type it scales into a burst engine, converting board presence into a monochrome mana surge. It mirrors your development rather than accelerating it, which makes it a payoff wearing the costume of a ramp piece. The single-color clause is the quiet constraint doing the real work: the pile can be large but arrives all one shade, so it rewards focused tribal builds far more than midrange piles that happen to share a type by accident. The deeper you commit to one kind of creature, the less this reads like fixing and the more it reads like a second, delayed mana source waiting behind your battlefield, cashing out your tribe into a spell you could not otherwise afford.
