Weird Harvest

SorceryX generic manaGreen manaGreen mana

Symmetrical tutoring is one of green's rarest design moves, and this hands the table its full violence at once: every player digs out as many creatures as they can point X at. On its face that reads as a wash, but a shared tutor almost never rewards both players equally, because the caster already knows what they are assembling and how to convert it. The value flows to whoever has the more degenerate creature suite waiting in the wings. Green's role in combo has always been the enabler rather than the payoff: it ramps, it fixes, it digs, and this is the digging at its most unrestrained, capable of pulling an entire multi-creature engine into hand in a single resolution when X gets large. The symmetry is the whole price the design pays for being so cheap before X; you grant an opponent identical access to the cards you are taking, which is why this lives only in shells built to slam their haul onto the battlefield faster than the table can answer with its own. The card is a combo piece wearing the costume of a group hug, and the distance between those two readings is exactly the deckbuilding problem it sets: you are not paying for the cards you find so much as for the certainty that you can do something with them before anyone else does.
