A 0/4 for two that never wants to attack, wired into a mechanic that only advances when someone is bleeding. That is the joke and the engine at once. Speed climbs once per turn on life loss the counter cannot deal itself, and this Homunculus does nothing to make that happen; it blocks, it stalls, and it waits for the meter to hit four on somebody else's clock. Once it does, the payoff has nothing to do with the red zone the mechanic was built to reward. Every draw becomes two, and the removed maximum hand size means the surplus never gets clawed back at cleanup. The result is a blue value spigot dressed in a mechanic tuned for aggression, and the friction between the two is real: the shell that most wants a doubled-draw engine (grindy control) is the shell least equipped to inflict incidental damage on schedule. To get there you either play the beatdown you didn't sign up for or lean on pingers and drainers to tick the counter without committing to a race. Reaching max speed and then cashing it for cards, rather than tempo, inverts the mechanic's whole intent. The wall is not the threat; it is the meter that turns other people's pain into your card advantage.
