Pairs of matching mana values mint Treasure, so the two rummaging chapters that precede it aren't just filtering toward gas, they're a chance to sculpt your hand into duplicate costs on purpose. That's a rare thing to build around: most loot effects care about quality (find the missing land, pitch the dead card), while this one quietly rewards redundancy of curve. The discard-then-draw halves work as a slow smoothing engine on their own, the kind of low-commitment card filtering red rarely gets, but the payoff loop is what distinguishes the design. Time it so you cash out chapter III with a fistful of two-drops or a cluster of same-cost spells and the Treasure count spikes; play it out passively and the finale can whiff entirely. The tension is self-inflicted, which is the interesting part: the card hands you the tools to load its own payoff over three turns, then measures how well you did. Treasure as the currency ties the ramp back into red's recent identity as a color that makes its own mana off transient tokens, and the Saga frame enforces the clock, so there's no sitting on the engine indefinitely.
