What sets this apart from the parade of white recursion enchantments is the exclusion clause doing the balancing work. Blanket "return your creatures when they die" effects have to fight their own success: the more they trigger, the more they snowball into unkillable loops. This one carves out the pieces that would break it. Tokens do not come back, so aristocrat engines cannot mint infinite bodies off a single sacrifice outlet. And because every returned creature becomes an Angel, it never triggers itself twice: kill it again and it stays dead, since the ability only cares about non-Angels dying. That single word "non-Angel" is the throttle. It turns what could be a degenerate loop into a one-time-per-creature insurance policy, converting each death into a slightly bigger flier rather than a repeatable value machine. The upgrade is meaningful beyond the counter: giving your ground creatures evasion changes how a stalled board resolves, and reclassifying a mana dork or a hatebear as an Angel opens tribal payoffs that the original creature had no business enabling. It rewards a board of small, expendable nontoken bodies over one expensive threat, since the recursion pays out per creature and each one comes back better than it left. Cards that convert combat losses into permanent advantage are old ground, but the Angel-tagging wrinkle is what keeps this one from folding in on itself.
