Unstoppable Slasher

Combat damage that halves a life total does something percentage-based punishment rarely gets to do from a body: it scales with the game rather than the clock. A single unblocked hit takes an opponent from 20 to 9 (two combat damage first, then half of the remaining eighteen, rounded up), the next from 9 to 3 (two damage to 7, then half of seven rounded up), and the math keeps compounding while deathtouch makes the 2/3 miserable to block, since anything that touches it dies. That percentage clock is why the death clause reads as a check rather than a reward. Left unanswered, the card wants to keep swinging, so the design refuses to let it die cleanly: kill it once and it returns tapped with two stun counters, forcing the opponent to spend a second removal spell or wait out two untap steps while it sits there as a recurring problem. The self-resurrection is gated behind having no counters on it, so once it comes back holding stun counters the loop is closed and a death while those counters remain is permanent. That conditional insurance answers the punishing combat trigger by giving the opponent a "free" kill that only buys time whenever it dies clean, then demanding they answer the threat again to make it stick. The result is an attacker expensive to ignore and expensive to remove, built to grind through the exact single-shot interaction most decks lean on to keep a threat off the board.
