Unctus, Grand Metatect
Two engines stacked on one legendary body, and the activated ability is the wire that lets them talk. The loot trigger keys off tapping rather than attacking, which is the design tell: this is built for creatures that tap without going to combat, whether they are mana dorks, tappers, or artifacts with activated abilities that cost a tap. The anthem lifts other artifact creatures a step higher, but the two grants only overlap on the right permanents; the loot clause lands on other blue creatures, and the +1/+1 lands on other artifact creatures. The activation reconciles them by converting a creature you control into a blue artifact, so it inherits both effects at once. That conversion is fenced to sorcery speed, so you cannot flash a blocker into the anthem mid-combat or set up a surprise draw: the tempo is paid up front on your own turn. The Phyrexian mana clause lets you buy the activation with two life instead of blue, which matters most when you are tapped out or want to hold mana up for something else, not because of any off-color splash. As a synthesis of tap-to-draw and artifact-matters, it asks a specific kind of board: wide, blue, and full of things that want to tap for reasons other than swinging. Assemble that, and a defensive 2/4 quietly turns each tap into card selection.
