Tyvar the Bellicose

The second ability is the one worth building around, and it quietly reframes what a mana creature is for. Every mana dork you control stops being a spent resource and becomes a growing threat: tap Llanowar Elves for one and it swells to a 2/2, tap something that produces more and it grows commensurately, once per turn per creature. That converts an Elf ramp board (usually a stack of disposable one-toughness bodies whose only job is to die to a sweeper before they matter) into a wide grid of counters-bearing attackers, and the first ability hands that grid deathtouch on the swing so every trade is lethal and no blocker is safe. What makes the two halves lock together is that Elf decks were already producing far more mana than they could sink; this reads that surplus as combat stats instead of asking for another payoff to point it at. The result is a lord whose static text rewards the exact overproduction the archetype was built to generate, then closes the game with a keyword that punishes anyone who tries to gum up the ground. The 5/4 body is almost incidental: the card's weight is entirely in turning a mana engine into an army that grows every time it does its day job.
