Treasure Trove

Enchantment2 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

A pure mana sink in enchantment form, and a study in how much a card-draw rate has to be punished to survive print. Four mana to enter, then four more for every card after that: the activation is deliberately back-loaded so the engine only matters once a deck has flooded out and has nothing better to do with its lands. The design lineage is the repeatable draw enchantment that Wizards keeps revisiting at different costs, from the more efficient ones that warped older formats to the deliberately leaden ones like this. The structural discipline here is the absence of any cost reduction, any scaling, or any way to draw more than one card per four mana: it cannot snowball, cannot be cheated into relevance early, and never threatens to bury an opponent in a single turn. That makes it the safe version of an effect that has, in cheaper incarnations, demanded watching. What it offers is permanence: unlike a one-shot draw spell, it stays on the battlefield as a standing outlet for surplus mana across every future turn, a slow conversion of land into cards that asks nothing of the deck around it except that the game run long enough for the rate to stop mattering.
