Thundertrap Trainer
A creature that digs is blue's answer to the color's oldest problem: how to filter toward the spells that matter without spending a whole card to do it. The reveal here narrows the search to noncreature, nonland cards, which is not a hedge but a signal. It wants to live in a deck of instants and sorceries, where every card seen is a card worth keeping, and that restriction turns the reveal into a near-guarantee rather than a coin flip. The 1/2 body is incidental; the dig is the whole reason it makes the deck. Offspring is where the two halves fit together. Paying the extra spawns a token copy, and that copy carries its own arrival trigger, so the mana sink converts one look at your library into two. That reframes the card across a game's arc: early, it's a cheap value creature you deploy for tempo; late, when the extra mana is trivial, it's a two-for-one dig stapled to a pair of bodies. The design rewards spell-dense builds twice over, once for the reliability of the reveal and once because those decks are exactly the ones that reach the late game with mana to spare. It's a small creature doing the structural work of a cantrip, with a back half that scales into the part of the game where cantrips usually stop paying off.
