The Wandering Minstrel

The static line is the part that earns the two mana: lands you control enter untapped, which quietly compresses the tempo cost that has always kept greedy multicolor plans one turn behind. It does for every land what Amulet of Vigor does situationally, and it does it just by sitting on the board. Everything above the mana value is Town-count payoff, gated behind a resource the green-blue shell does not naturally supply. The combat-step trigger wants five or more Towns before it starts spitting out all-colors 2/2 Elementals, and the activated pump, which itself demands all five colors of mana, hands your other creatures +X/+X equal to your Town count. That land-type dependency is the brake bolted onto an otherwise free enabler: the untap works in a vacuum, but the ballad and the overrun cash out only for a board built specifically to feed them. So the 1/3 body reads less like a threat and more like two cards stapled together at odds with each other. One half asks nothing and smooths any splash you want to run; the other half asks for a very particular assembly of lands and a five-color mana sink to fire the activation. The green-blue frame fixes and untaps early; the ceiling waits behind a Town-heavy, lands-first commitment most of the manabase will spend the game trying to reach.
