The Reality Chip

Card advantage delivered as a permanent, not a spell. Effects that let you cast off the deck's crown are older than most players remember (Future Sight, Vizier of the Menagerie, Oracle of Mul Daya), but they arrived as fragile creatures or a five-mana enchantment, each a fresh target for the first removal spell that came along. Reconfigure changes the chassis: this starts life as a 0/4 body that blocks and survives while it peeks at the next card, then bolts onto an evasive threat so every draw step feeds an extra land or spell you can cast from up top (you still pay for what you play; the ability grants access, not free casts). The split is the whole point. As a standalone permanent it is a wall that reads your deck; as Equipment it becomes an engine your opponent has to answer twice, because killing the carrier leaves the chip in play, waiting to reconfigure onto the next creature at sorcery speed for . That sorcery-speed clause is the discipline that pays for the resilience: you cannot bolt it on reactively or slide it during combat, so the attach step is always telegraphed and always costs you a main phase. What holds it together is that the peek is live at all times, even while unattached, so you are never planning blind. It is the design that finally makes reading ahead durable, not a creature that dies before it ever draws you a card.
