The Moment
Most board wipes are a binary: the board is either under the threshold or over it, and you cast when the split favors you. This one turns that threshold into a clock you wind yourself. A time counter accrues one per upkeep, and the destruction clause scales with how many have piled up, so the wipe you can afford grows every turn you hold it. Early, it clears the small stuff and leaves the bombs; wait long enough and it takes the whole table, itself included. That escalation is the entire cost structure: the sacrifice clause hands you exactly one detonation, and the value of that detonation is a direct function of your patience against the board's development. The phasing ability is the other half, and it does quiet insurance work. Phasing out a creature you control until the artifact leaves the battlefield means that when the counter finally lands, your chosen creature vanishes past the destruction and returns once The Moment is gone, dodging its own effect entirely. It reads like a combat untap trick, but its real function is to slip your creatures through the reset you built, one at a time across the turns you spend winding it up. The design lives on the tension between two timers you run at once: how high you let the counter climb, and which creatures you decide to hide before you pull the trigger.
