The Last Agni Kai

Instant1 generic manaRed mana

Fight spells have always paid for themselves in creature stats, but this one converts the surplus into fuel. When your creature outmuscles its target and the damage spills past the opponent's toughness, that overflow comes back as red mana, and the second clause protects the payoff: mana that would normally drain away as steps and phases end stays in your pool through the rest of the turn. That is the wrinkle worth building around. A large enough body fighting a small one doesn't just clear the board, it banks a burst of red you can spend that same turn, at instant speed, once the fight resolves. Most ramp-in-a-fight designs stop at the kill; here the mana is conditional on overkill, so a wider mismatch returns more fuel, favoring oversized bodies over efficient trades. Red has always faced an old split with this kind of card: fight spells generate nothing beyond the removal, and burn generates no board. This does both, then hands you the mana to keep going, provided you set up a gap wide enough to leak damage past the target. It is a payoff card dressed as removal, and the payoff only arrives when you were already winning the fight you pointed it at.

Target creature you control fights target creature an opponent controls. If the creature the opponent controls is dealt excess damage this way, add that much Red mana. Until end of turn, you don't lose unspent red mana as steps and phases end.
