The Council of Four

A wall that taxes tempo instead of blocking for it. The 0/8 body is both the joke and the point: it wants to sit back and do nothing physical while the two triggers turn every player's ordinary turn into fuel for the throne. Both abilities key off the second event, not the first, which is the mechanical decision that keeps the card fair-ish in a vacuum and monstrous with more opponents. One opponent drawing an extra card, cantripping, or casting a second spell is unremarkable at any single seat; several of them doing it every turn cycle stacks the payoffs faster than any duel-scale design could. That is the wrinkle that makes this a multi-opponent engine rather than a heads-up card: the more opponents, the more second-draws and second-spells fire, and every one of them feeds you and only you. The Knight generation carries the whole conversion problem, because the 0/8 gives you no clock of its own; the tokens are how a defensive value piece ever turns its card lead into board pressure. It rewards a build that leans into the passivity: fog effects, blink, protection, anything that keeps the body alive while opponents involuntarily crank the machine. The friction is that it does nothing on a table too grindy to cast second spells, and it telegraphs the taxation loudly enough to be played around. But left alone, it draws and builds an army off other people's normal Magic.
