Stapling a Saga onto a creature type turns four turns of story into a phased engine that also happens to punch. The first two chapters rummage (discard, then draw), the kind of filtering red leans on to trade a dead card for a live one while the lore counters tick up. Chapters III and IV then convert the same permanent into a two-turn ritual, adding a red mana each turn before the enchantment sacrifices itself after IV. Read across its life, that is a three-drop that smooths your early draws and ramps your late ones, then leaves on its own schedule so you are never stuck holding a spent creature. The 3/2 body is the wrinkle that separates this from a noncreature Saga: for the turns it is on the battlefield it attacks and blocks like anything else, and it can be sacrificed, blinked, or reanimated the way creatures can, which opens interactions a plain enchantment could never reach. That body is also the tax on the plan, since creature removal answers it and it must survive several turns to reach the ritual chapters at all; the payoff is real but never guaranteed. Wizards has spent years widening the Saga frame from pure story-vignette into a chassis for staged effects, and welding one to a creature type is the logical next turn: a single permanent that is a blocker, a card-filtering engine, and a delayed ritual, each phase buying the next before the whole thing spends itself.
