What it fetches is therefore never a creature, an artifact, or a planeswalker, but the exact interaction the moment calls for: the counterspell for the combo turn, the removal for the resolved threat, the finisher for the empty board. Raw draw hands you cards; this hands you the right card, at the cost of a full turn's sorcery-speed commitment and a card of net tempo loss. The lineage runs through the spell-type tutors before it, from graveyard-hungry searches to the instant-and-sorcery-matters shells that reward casting your library twice, and it slots naturally into any deck that treats its spellbook as a toolbox rather than a curve. The shuffle at the end is the small tax that blunts topdeck manipulation, and the reveal keeps the choice public. It asks nothing of your deckbuilding except that the spell you want most is worth digging for.
