A counterspell answers a spell and sends it to the graveyard: the exchange ends there, one card for one card. This blue flier turns the same interception into a heist. The flash body lets you hold up an answer, and its enters trigger exiles a spell an opponent has cast (targeting it on the stack, before it resolves, the way a counter would), so the immediate effect reads as a straightforward removal-of-a-spell. The difference is what happens to the exiled card afterward: it is not gone, it is held in escrow, waiting to be claimed. The attack trigger is the collection: swing the 3/3 in, and if the exiled card is still riding along, you cast it for free. The design deliberately splits the answer from the reward across two windows. The exile fires at instant speed on entry, keeping counterspell timing; the free cast rides a combat trigger, so the payoff is both conditional and delayed. You have to keep a fragile flier alive and send it into the red zone before you collect anything, and the exiled card sits exposed the whole time. That gap is the tax on the upgrade: a clean counter resolves safely and now, while this asks you to defend a body across a full turn cycle to convert your answer into a threat. It sits at the aggressive end of the blue lineage that steals opposing spells rather than merely stopping them, because the reward is not a slow drip of value but a free cast the turn it attacks.
