Slaughter Specialist
A two-drop that hands your opponent a blocker the moment it arrives, then profits from that same creature's death. The design tension lives in the two clauses talking past each other: the 1/1 Human token you gift each opponent reads as chump fodder for this body, but the second clause turns any opposing creature's death into a +1/+1 counter, so the token you handed over becomes fuel the instant it dies. That is the engine. Trade the token into combat, kill it with removal, edict it away, and Slaughter Specialist grows regardless of what caused the death, which means the drawback and the reward are the same event seen from two angles. The upside only fires on opposing deaths, so targeted removal, edicts, deathtouch blockers, and forced-attack effects all feed it, while your own sacrifice outlets do nothing here since they eat your creatures, not theirs. The cost of that upside is the tempo you spend developing the opponent's board first, a real liability in a race but a small one in a grinding attrition game where opposing creatures die constantly. It sits in a lineage of black beaters that fatten off death, an idea Vampires have circled for years, but the twist of manufacturing your own trigger by giving away the very creatures you intend to answer is the specific reason this is more than a vanilla 3/3.
