The flagship of the Weatherlight Saga rendered as a tutor that hides its rewards behind a slot machine. Searching out any number of artifacts and creatures and exiling them is an unconditional, library-emptying grab; the catch is that getting them back happens one card at a time, at four mana plus a tap, and which card surfaces is decided at random. That randomness is the whole balancing act, and it cuts both ways. Because the search reads "any number," a player can exile exactly one card and pull it out reliably, paying four mana per activation for a slow, guaranteed tutor with a built-in delay. Load it heavier and the math flips: the more you bury, the longer any specific piece stays a lottery, so the engine rewards a roster of broadly interchangeable threats over a single named target you need on a precise turn. The player chooses where on that curve to sit, which is the genuinely clever part of an otherwise expensive, board-neutral artifact: four to deploy, four-and-a-tap per pull, no immediate impact, a long-game machine that asked for patience the way few artifacts of its era did. As a flavor object it is doing real work, the literal ship the entire block is named for. But mechanically it commits to a question most tutors dodge: what does a search effect look like when the searcher trades control over order for the freedom to decide how much chaos to invite?
