Silver Surfer, Galactus's Herald
A tutor stapled to a flying body, except the target of the search is the whole point: this fetches one specific named card, Galactus, Devourer of Worlds, and drops it straight into hand rather than onto the battlefield. That is a designed handshake, a two-card package where one half exists to find the other, and because the enters trigger simply fails to find when Galactus is already in hand, the herald still functions as a 4/5 flier once the payoff has already been drawn. The combat-damage ability is the more unusual piece of engineering. Connecting once doesn't just push four through the air; it commandeers a single creature and forces it to attack the player you hit, turning that creature into a liability for its controller. That is goad by another name, but pointed rather than blanket: you pick the creature and you pick the victim, which lets a single hit break a stalemate by weaponizing the biggest threat across the table. The two abilities read as separate but share a thesis: this card's job is to arrive as scout and enabler, then keep the board tilting toward whoever it hit last. The optional tutor means it never sits dead once the plan has moved past finding Galactus; the redirect means every point of combat damage it lands buys political leverage on top of the life total.
