Tapping two untapped artifacts to ping each opponent for one is not a big number, but it is untethered from combat, immune to the interaction that catches attackers, and it scales with the width of your battlefield rather than with the creature itself. That pushes the card toward decks with a dense artifact base where the tap cost is a resource you already generate.
