Sea's Claim

Enchantment — AuraBlue mana

Color-screw as a weapon, sold for a single mana. The function here is hostile mana denial dressed up as the gentlest possible Aura: target the opponent's only Swamp, and now it taps for blue and nothing else, leaving them holding black spells they cannot cast. Against a two-color manabase it can lock a key color out of a game entirely. The lineage runs through cards like Spreading Seas, which married the same land-type rewrite to a cantrip and largely retired the bare version; Sea's Claim is the stripped chassis that idea was built on, no card draw, no upside beyond the denial itself. That is also its ceiling. Strip away the punitive read and what remains is a one-mana enchantment whose only effect is changing what a land is, which means it does real work exactly once (on the right turn, against the right manabase) and is a dead draw the rest of the time. The flavor pun is doing as much heavy lifting as the card: the sea reclaims the land, and the land becomes an Island. It is a clean, narrow piece of design from an era when Wizards was willing to print mono-purpose hosers at common and let players sort out whether the situation ever arose.
