Screeching Scorchbeast

A 5/5 flier with menace is already a serviceable beater, but this bat is really a self-mill engine that happens to fly. Its attack trigger doesn't threaten five in the air so much as it poisons the whole table: every swing hands two rad counters to each player, and rad counters mill their bearer at the start of their precombat main phase. So the real payoff lands after the attack, not during it, when the ambient rad floods every graveyard. That is where the Zombie clause cashes in: each nonland card milled spawns a 2/2, once per turn, converting your share of the self-inflicted damage into a widening board. The symmetry is the tension. You irradiate opponents exactly as hard as yourself, feeding their rad payoffs or hastening their decking, so the engine only makes sense in a shell that metabolizes self-mill faster than the table can punish it. Flying and menace do nothing for the trigger's reliability (it fires the instant the bat declares, blockers or not); what evasion buys is longevity, keeping a body most boards cannot cleanly gang-block alive to swing again and again, stacking counters turn over turn. The mill is the value and the bat is the closer, and neither works without a deck that treats its own graveyard as an asset rather than a liability.
