Savage Twister

A scalable board sweeper handed to the two colors that historically had the least business owning one. Red and green clear creatures by accident: burn too small to catch everything, fight spells that trade one-for-one. Neither color has white's flat-rate global reset, where Wrath of God simply destroys all creatures and asks you to build around surviving it. Savage Twister is the design's answer in red and green: pay X, and every creature takes that much, friend and foe alike. The symmetry is the constraint that makes the rate work. You set the size yourself, which means you also choose how much of your own board you are willing to feed to it. Scaling damage is the lever that lets the same card wipe a swarm of one-toughness tokens for cheap or grind through a stalled board of larger bodies for a heavy investment, and the sorcery-speed restriction keeps it honest: no ambushing a midcombat alpha strike. It is a blunt instrument by color-pie logic, the kind of effect Gruul gets to keep precisely because the symmetry and the X-cost tax stop it from being a free reset. The red-green "damage to each creature" template has been revisited often enough since that the original still reads as the clean statement of the idea: damage rather than destruction (which lets it sidestep indestructible-shrugging board states only at the margins, since lethal damage still leaves indestructible bodies standing), symmetric rather than one-sided, and priced to make you commit before you know what your opponent will commit back.
