Robe of Mirrors

Enchantment — AuraBlue mana

Shroud is the keyword that prices its own Aura, and this card is built entirely around that fact. A single point of blue mana walls a creature off from every targeted spell and ability, which sounds like an outrageous rate until you remember the protection cuts both ways: once the creature has shroud, your own auras, equipment, and pump spells can no longer touch it either. That self-imposed lockout is what stops a one-cost protection spell from running away with the game, and it shapes how the card has to be used. The Aura is spent the moment it resolves, committing both a card and a permanent to guarding exactly one body. If that body dies to a sweeper, an edict, or any effect that does not need a target, both halves of the investment go with it. Cheap shroud-granting auras have been revisited under several names across many printings, and the price has barely moved because the downside enforces it. The natural home is a deck with a single creature too valuable to lose and too important to expose to spot removal: a combo enabler, a recurring engine, or any threat whose survival is the whole plan. Anywhere else, it asks for a two-card commitment to a defensive end that rarely justifies the slot. The narrowness is not an oversight; it is the leash that lets the rate stay this low.
