Redemption Arc

The design trick here is that indestructible is a gift wrapped around a leash. Handing an opponent's creature the ability to survive removal sounds like charity until you read the second clause: goad forces that creature to attack, and to attack someone other than you. So the target becomes a permanent aggressor pointed away from your board, kept alive precisely so it keeps swinging at everyone else. This is white multiplayer politics distilled: you have turned a threat into a weapon aimed at whichever opponent you least want winning, and indestructible guarantees they cannot conveniently trade it away or let it die in the red zone. The activated exile ability is the release valve. When the goaded creature has served its purpose (or the alliance you were exploiting sours), you spend the mana and remove it outright, exile dodging the recursion and death-trigger payoffs a sacrifice would enable. Aura removal is the obvious counterplay, since destroying the enchantment ends the arrangement, but that requires an opponent to spend a card unwinding something that is nominally helping their own creature stay alive. The whole card is a study in redirected incentive: it does not slow the game so much as re-aim it, converting the strongest thing your neighbor controls into the pressure that keeps every other seat honest.
