Recursion at its most stripped-down: one green mana, instant speed, and the only cost beyond that is tempo. Where most graveyard recovery hands the card back to your grip (Regrowth, Eternal Witness), this puts it on top of your library instead, which is the entire design tension. You are not casting that card this turn; you are spending your next draw on it. Paying with the draw step for the right to choose what comes back is what prices the rate so low and what keeps the card a quiet skill check rather than a value engine. The instant-speed clause is where the real work happens: you can wait until a card you want is already in the yard (a creature that just died to a sweeper, a spell countered or discarded earlier) and rebook it during an opponent's end step, holding the green mana open until the last responsible moment instead of committing on your own turn. That flexibility rewards knowing exactly what your next draw should be, and it punishes greed when you would rather just draw blind. The cheap, no-frills variant of an effect green has reprinted in many shapes since; the trade never changes, only the wrapper around it.
