Phyresis Outbreak

Poison in Magic has spent most of its history as a clock: infect creatures deposit counters onto an opponent until ten of them close the game, and the counters otherwise sit inert. This design flips the counter from win-condition tracker into a live resource, feeding the poison total back into a one-sided sweep on the same turn it deposits it. The wrinkle is the compounding math: each opponent takes a counter first, then every creature they control shrinks by -1/-1 for each counter its controller holds, while your own board is untouched. Cast into a table that has already accrued a few counters from earlier infect damage, the second clause scales past a one-toughness ping into a genuine asymmetrical wipe, and against a poisoned-out opponent it can erase an entire side of the battlefield without costing you a creature. That dependency is also its honest limit: resolved into a clean board where nobody holds counters yet, it does little beyond advancing a poison plan by a single tick. The card asks you to have already been playing the poison game, then rewards the accumulated counters with removal proportional to how far along that game is. It sits at the junction of two black instincts (mass creature removal and the slow toxic grind) and makes them the same card, which is the piece non-aggressive infect strategies had usually been missing: a way to convert the counters you were racking up anyway into tempo rather than waiting on the tenth.
