Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might // Temple of Power

Legendary Creature — God // Land

The design conceit is a floor on burn: any red source that would deal less noncombat damage than this God's power to an opponent instead deals the full amount. Every one-mana pinger, every incidental ping, every Shock that would otherwise fall short gets scaled up to four. It reframes a whole category of chip-damage effects, the ones usually dismissed as too small to matter, into repeatable four-point strikes, and it does so without touching the number printed on any of those spells. What makes the mechanic sing is that it reads noncombat damage broadly: an activated ability that pings, a triggered burn effect, a spell aimed at an opponent's face all qualify, so the ceiling on your smallest effects becomes the God's power rather than their own.

The death clause is where the God-cards of this design lineage earn their name. Killing it does not answer it; it returns tapped and transformed into a land that still taps for red and, once you have dealt enough noncombat damage in a turn, flips back into the God at sorcery speed. Removal buys a turn, not a resolution. That two-sided persistence, a threat that becomes a resource and reassembles itself on your own schedule, is the structural payoff that separates this cycle from the older single-faced indestructible Gods, which asked for devotion but never rebuilt themselves after death.
