Creature — Human WizardGreen manaBlue mana

The clever part is the escape clause. Loot effects that draw and then discard are the oldest trick in blue-green card selection, but here the discard is a penalty you can dodge entirely: flip a permanent face up, or slip one onto the battlefield face down, and the end-step draw arrives with no cost attached. That condition is what separates a fair looting body from an engine. It rewards a very specific kind of board development (manifest, morph, disguise, cloak, anything that puts cards under a facedown veil) and pays a free card every turn you keep the machine fed. Without that support, it is still functional: a 2/3 that trades a card to filter one, honest enough for a two-drop but hardly the reason to run it. The design leans hard on the enabler rather than the body. The payoff lands at your own end step, the moment when the only permission you need to worry about is an opponent responding to the trigger on the stack rather than a decision baked into your own game plan. Build a deck that traffics in hidden information and the loot converts into raw card advantage; the friction sits entirely in that deckbuilding rather than in the card itself. Assemble the facedown density and the loot becomes a straight draw. Ignore it and you own a modest filtering creature that will chew through your excess lands.

At the beginning of your end step, you may draw a card. If you do, discard a card unless a permanent entered the battlefield face down under your control this turn or you turned a permanent face up this turn.
