Nomad Outpost

Land

The Mardu wedge in land form: red, white, and black from a single source, paid for with the oldest fixing tax in the game. Entering tapped is the flat, unconditional cost the trilands settle on instead of life payment, basic-land typing, or a sacrifice clause; the land hands you all three colors of an aggressive wedge, then asks you to give back exactly one turn of tempo for the privilege. That trade reads worse than it plays for the decks built around it, because a three-color aggro shell can lean on the fixing early while spacing its cheap creatures around the tapped turn. What sets this kind of fixing apart from a dual that bleeds two colors is the surplus: a third color on demand widens what a deck's spells can be without widening its mana commitment, which is why wedge and shard strategies lean on these the way two-color decks lean on a single painless dual. There is nothing modal, nothing conditional, nothing to play around. It taps for the wedge, it comes down tapped, and the entire negotiation between fixing and speed is resolved on the turn it hits the table.
