The engine that makes a poison deck stop counting to ten and start counting to five. A toxic 2 body is only worth so much on its own, but this turns every other toxic creature on the board into a heavier hitter: each combat connection now delivers its printed toxic value plus one more counter, and the tax stacks across a full team. Two or three attackers each landing an extra counter compresses the poison clock in a way individual creatures cannot. The 1/5 frame is the design choice that pays for the engine: it is a wall, not a threat, built to survive the counterattack while the anthem effect does the real work on other bodies. And the activated ability closes the loophole that plagues poison strategies, which is that a defender-heavy board can absorb toxic damage indefinitely; granting deathtouch to a toxic creature forces trades and cracks open the ground so the counters can land. It rewards a board wide enough to justify the effort, which is exactly the shape a poison deck wants to take anyway. This is a lord in the truest structural sense, not pumping stats but multiplying the mechanic that wins the game, and the deathtouch outlet gives it a second job on turns when the board has stalled.
