Natural Order

Sorcery2 generic manaGreen manaGreen mana

The original "pay with a body, get a better body" tutor, and the template every green reanimator-adjacent shortcut has been measured against since. The math is brutally simple: trade one green creature you no longer need for any green creature in your deck, dropped straight onto the battlefield with no mana cost paid past the four for the spell. The sacrifice is the entire balancing mechanism, and it is a soft one; in a deck full of mana dorks and disposable one-drops, the additional cost is something you were happy to be rid of anyway. The fetch ignores the converted mana cost of the target entirely, so the natural design pressure is to point it at the single most expensive, most game-ending green creature legal in the format and assemble the rest of the deck around making the sacrifice trivial. Wizards has spent the years since printing tutors that fold in the same idea while taping on restrictions to keep the rate honest: caps on the creature's cost, conditions on the search, exile clauses. None of them put a fat threat on the battlefield as cleanly as this does for four mana and a creature you were going to chump with anyway. It reads like a value spell and plays like a combo enabler, the reason it has surfaced in every banned and restricted conversation green has earned.

As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a green creature. Search your library for a green creature card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle.
