How this card plays

Disappear on a 3/3 for three asks a question green decks rarely build to answer: did something of yours leave this turn? Combat will eventually answer it for free, since the format's common ground bodies cluster around 2/2 and 2/3 stat lines that trade willingly, so even a board-neutral game can feed the end-step check by accident. You can also manufacture it the turn the turtle lands: cast it, swing with another creature into a trade, and the counter sticks on your end step before you untap. The deliberate answers matter more, though. Food sacrifice supplies a trigger on demand, and the self-bounce effects attached to Sneak qualify too, even when returning your own creature to hand is the last thing tempo wants. That split in how decks satisfy the trigger is what separates a real home from a body that grows by luck.

BG Food is the home, and the difference is whether the deck is built to feed the counter or merely hopes to. Anchovy & Banana Pizza is sacrifice outlet and life buffer in one card, and the deck churns Food as routine business. Every end step you ate a pizza, the turtle creeps toward 4/4 then 5/5 without spending a card on the growth, which is why it climbs to P1P3 there. GU Sneak treats it as roughly fourth in colors: a delayed three-drop wanting the long game pulls against the tempo plan, and the self-bounce triggers that would feed it also surrender the board presence the deck would rather press.

The whole plan lives behind the growth being slow rather than the body being fragile. It blocks the turn it lands, so it never sits there doing nothing, but the counter accrues on a delay no matter how you trigger it, and that delay is the window removal exploits. Grounded for Life destroys any creature, just cheaper against a tapped one, and Stomped by the Foot does the same work in black, either one cashing in before a single counter sticks. The 3/3 floor is acceptable in a deck that can never trigger the growth, a fine green beater on rate. The ceiling only opens in a deck already paying the sacrifice tax.
