Land

The tapped clause is the tax you pay up front for two colors of fixing, and in exchange you get a land that refuses to be a dead draw in the late game. Once the mana is there to spare, four generic and a tap converts a color source into a card: a Clue token that sits on the board as fuel until you can crack it. That is a familiar bargain for utility lands that fold card advantage into the manabase, letting a deck run a higher land count without flooding out, because past a certain point every excess land becomes a slow cantrip instead of a blank. The Investigate framing matters more than the raw rate: a Clue is a deferred card, not an immediate one, so the four-mana activation buys a token now and a second sacrifice cost later, spreading the payment across two turns and two open windows. Green-blue is the natural home for a land that wants to survive to the point where it can spend mana on card flow rather than tempo, and the color pairing tells you exactly which decks were meant to look at it: the ones that plan to still be alive when a land is worth more as a draw engine than as a mana rock.
