Land — Plains Island

The line that reads like flavor text is the one carrying the design: Plains Island. This is not a generic tapped dual with a rider bolted on; it is a basic-land-typed source, which means it fetches like a real dual. Any effect that hunts for a Plains or an Island can find it, and that single detail separates this cycle from the common taplands it superficially resembles. The tapland template has always priced its fixing with an enters-tapped clause, trading a turn of tempo for painless colors. What this design layers on is a selection trigger, and the choice of surveil over scry is deliberate: scry only reorders what you would draw next, while surveil lets you bin the card outright. So the same trigger that smooths a draw can instead feed a graveyard, which reframes the land entirely for decks built around flashback, delve, reanimation, or threshold-style payoffs. The downside inverts into upside precisely when your deck wants a card in the yard: you were making the land drop anyway, and now it either sharpens your next draw or stocks the bin. The tapped clause stays a genuine early tax, but the basic typing means that tax buys more than it looks like: a dual that fixes two colors, seeds a graveyard, and answers to every fetch and land-tutor in white and blue.
