Metallic Sliver

Artifact Creature — Sliver1 generic mana

The deliberate runt of the Sliver family, and the joke is structural: it shares the creature type that turns every Sliver into a synergy engine, but its body carries none of the keyword-granting abilities the tribe is built around. It is a vanilla 1/1 that happens to inherit whatever the rest of the board is handing out. That inheritance is the entire design point. Drop it alongside Muscle Sliver, Winged Sliver, or Crystalline Sliver and the metal husk suddenly has trample, flying, or shroud it never paid for. The artifact type is the quieter half of the design, making it a one-mana creature that doubles as an artifact-count enabler and a sacrifice-fodder body in decks that care about either. What it really represents is a designer leaning into the tribe-as-cost-curve idea: a piece of fixed mana value whose value floats entirely with the board state around it, contributing nothing in isolation and meaningful pressure once the lords arrive. It is the cleanest possible expression of why Slivers were balanced the way they were, a creature whose stat line is honest about being a vessel rather than an engine.
