Mechanized Warfare

Damage-boost enchantments have a long lineage in red, from Furnace of Rath doubling everything on the table to Gratuitous Violence and Fiery Emancipation scaling only your creatures. This one narrows the axis in a way those predecessors never did: it adds a flat +1 rather than multiplying, and it keys off source type (red or artifact) rather than creature combat, which means it upgrades noncombat damage too. Every burn spell, every ping from a Shock effect, every artifact source that deals damage lands one harder, and it only ever hurts opponents and their permanents, never you. The flat increment is what defines its strategic profile. A multiplier rewards single big hits; a +1 rewards volume, so the card wants a board of small red bodies and a hand of cheap direct damage rather than one haymaker. It also quietly rewrites arithmetic that matters: a source dealing 2 now kills a 3-toughness creature, and a one-damage ping becomes a two-damage removal spell. Where multipliers scale hardest with the largest numbers, this scales hardest with the highest count of separate damage events, which is a different deckbuilding contract entirely and one aimed squarely at go-wide aggro and artifact-adjacent red shells rather than the classic big-swing red enchantment.
