Mawcor

Creature — Beast3 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

A pinger in blue, which is most of the point. The repeatable one-damage tap ability has lived almost entirely in red and white over the game's history (Prodigal Sorcerer is the archetype, Tim being the nickname that stuck), so handing it to blue at five mana with a 3/3 flying body is the design move worth noting. The cost structure tells you why: a ground-bound pinger like Prodigal Sorcerer comes at two mana and a fragile 1/1, but stapling the ability to an evasive, harder-to-kill frame pushes the rate way up the curve. The flying matters as more than a clock; it keeps the body out of range of opposing ground blockers and makes it awkward to trade with, so the pinger survives to keep tapping. What you get is a slow grind engine built around a choice it has to make every turn: with no vigilance, each untap step forces the question of whether to swing for three through the air or tap to pick off an X/1, finish a burned-down threat, and tax the opponent's board. That tension is the cost of the durable shell; the ability does the same structural work pingers always have, while the novelty is the color it shows up in and the resilience of the frame it arrives on.
