Lórien Revealed

Sorcery3 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

The value is in the fallback, not the front. Draw three for five mana is a fair blue payoff, one that has to earn its slot against faster card advantage. What keeps this card off the cut list is that it is never dead in hand: when you are flooded on air but short a land, the islandcycling clause turns it into a one-mana tutor for the exact blue source you need, thinning the deck and smoothing the next draw. That dual nature is what the design turns on. A control deck can run more copies than it would ever want as pure card draw, because the marginal copy is a land-fetch in disguise, and the mana base gets to run a hair leaner knowing any excess Lórien Revealed can go find an Island instead. The card answers the oldest tension in blue deckbuilding, land-count against spell-count, by refusing to commit to either role until it is in hand and the game has told you which one you need. It is flexible-slot design that treats a spell as a modal land: not a land you can fetch, but a spell that becomes a fetch when the draw runs dry, quieting the manabase math without asking the pilot to run worse cards to get there.
