The trigger keys off a verb that most white cards treat as a byproduct rather than a resource: putting a counter on a creature. That single conditional turns this into a repeatable card-advantage engine for decks built around counter manipulation, whether that means +1/+1 counters piling onto a go-wide board, proliferate accumulating shield or keyword counters across a battlefield, or the counter-doubling shells that already want a reason to be doing what they do. The Clue only appears if you touched a creature with a counter that turn, so the body works as a rider on an existing plan rather than an axis you build toward from scratch. What makes the design cleaner than most reward triggers is where it lives: on a two-power flier that can carry the load in the air while the counters do their work on the ground, and the end-step timing means the check happens after combat, after your main phase plays, after anything that might sneak a counter down at instant speed. It sits in a small lineage of white cards that pay you for engaging with counters as a resource, and it asks for the least commitment of any of them: one counter, on one creature, before end of turn. For a color that has always had to grind incremental card advantage the hard way, a recurring Clue for doing something the deck already wanted to do is a quietly generous rate.
