Lone Wolf

Creature — Wolf2 generic manaGreen mana

Most evasion in Magic lets a creature get past a blocker; this lets it ignore the blocker once combat is already joined. Block it with anything, and the controller may still route every point of its damage onto the defending player as though the block never happened, leaving the blocking creature untouched and the damage flowing through regardless. That is more aggressive than trample, which forces the attacker to assign lethal to the blocker first and only spill the excess through. There is no keyword for this; it is its own thing, spelled out longhand in plain prose. That phrasing is the real curiosity. This belongs to a parallel rules dialect Wizards built for newcomers, one that refused abbreviations and one-word keywords entirely, opting to write every ability out in full sentences so a player who had never seen the game could read a card and understand it without a glossary. The "you may" framing is the same philosophy at work, leaving the option in the controller's hands where a printed mechanic would have hardwired it into the combat rules. The body and the rate are ordinary green fare, and the effect itself rarely matters at this size, since a 2/2 has little surplus to push through anyway. What lingers is the language: an artifact of the years when the company treated the keyword system as a barrier to route around rather than a vocabulary to teach head-on.
